EZ Pull Electric Davit Operating InstructionsThe control lever operates in an On and Off position only. MAINTAIN A SAFE DISTANCE. With arms extended, you should not be able to touch the 8” black puller sheave when it is turning. This is very important. Clothing and gloves need to be a snug fit with no hanging cords, etc. to avoid getting caught in the spinning 8” black puller sheave, idler roller or davit pulley block. Install the line through the davit pulley block, then under the plastic idler roller, then over the 8” black puller sheave Move the control lever to the on position to raise the pot. As the pot is being raised, keep a slight tension on the line coming over the top of the 8” black puller sheave. MONITOR incoming line closely for weights, snares and pot. Never allow weight, line snare or pot to reach the davit pulley block. Use davit in locked position only. NEVER have hands around or in front of 8” black puller sheave, idler roller or davit pulley while pulling pot. When pot is up, TURN CONTROL OFF before bringing pot into boat. Keep your eyes on the puller at all times during operation. DO NOT LOOK AWAY. This unit should not be operated by anyone not familiar with the operation of the EZ-Pull Pot Puller. Do not allow operation by anyone under the influence of any drugs or alcohol, by anyone who lacks the physical abilities to safely operate this puller or by minors. Rope must be in good condition. Most commonly used sizes are 1/4” and 5/16”, poly or nylon, twist or braided. Always check the s/s hardware holding the davit pulley block to be sure it is secure. PRACTICE operation to become familiar with the unit is advised before going fishing. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE SAFE OPERATION OF THIS UNIT, PLEASE CALL YOUR DEALER. The use of any plug configuration other than the optional plug package sold by manufacturer of EZ-Pull Pot Puller will nullify your warranty.

EZ Pull Electric Davit Installation InstructionsLocate the davit in the boat from the stern to midway forward on the starboard side to allow for operation of the puller unit. The pot is pulled up on the right side of the davit. Locate the deck and gunnel mounts so the davit will slip vertically through the gunnel mount into the deck mount. Through bolting the mounts is recommended using 1/4” or 5/16” bolts. You may also install additional reinforcement for added support. NOTE: Gunnel & deck mounts for a schedule 40 davit must be mounted at least 21” apart. For schedule 80 davit, 12” apart. For all extended davits, 24” apart. Install the davit into the gunnel and deck mounts and position the 8” black puller sheave perpendicular with the side of the boat to locate the davit in the operating position. Hold davit in operating position and locate pre-drilled holes in the gunnel mount. Drill a 3/8” hole through one side of the davit pipe. Install davit locking pin through the hole approximately 3/4” in. Drill 3/8” hole on opposite side of davit pipe through the pre-drilled hole in gunnel mount, taking care to drill no more than 1” deep. Remove davit locking pin from other hole in gunnel mount. Drill through complete gunnel mount. (Only 1 hole may be drilled through the davit at the gunnel mount.) Install removable locking pin through gunnel mount and pipe. This holds the davit in the operating position. Remove locking pin from gunnel mount and rotate davit 90 to 180 degrees. Locate pre-drilled holes in the deck mount. Drill a 3/8” hole through one side of the davit pipe through pre-drilled hole in deck mount. Install davit locking pin through the hole approximately 3/4”. Drill 3/8” hole on opposite side of the davit pipe through the pre-drilled hole in the deck mount taking care to drill no more than 1” deep. Remove davit locking pin from other hole in deck mount. Drill through complete deck mount. Install removable locking pin through deck mount and davit pipe. This positions the davit inside the boat for storage. The electric davit package comes pre-wired. To hook up the wires to the battery, connect the red wire with the circuit breaker to the positive post of the battery and the black wire with the 3/8” ring terminal to the negative post on the battery. You should now test your connections. With the pot line installed through the 8” puller sheave, as per the operating instructions, the pot should raise with the control in the on position. If the pot does not raise with the control in the on position, check the battery connection as described above. If the connections are correct and the davit does not operate correctly, call for further instructions. WARNING: Proper installation is very important for safely operating any piece of equipment. Failure to read and follow these mounting and operating instructions may result in serious injury. If you have any questions, please call your dealer for further instructions.

EZ Pull Armstrong Downrigger Mounting InstructionsThe EZ Pull Armstrong davit can only be used with the downrigger mounts Model #1023 and #1026. A metal backing plate has to be installed on the underside of the gunnel of the boat to strength the area for leverage where the downrigger pedestal is mounted. We cannot guarantee the strength of the downrigger mounts or the gunnel of the boat. Install the davit on the downrigger swivel base assembly. Insert the 3/3”x4” pin through the aluminum channel and the hole in the #1023 bracket. Install the retainer clip in the end of the 3/8”x4” pin. There is an optional safety lanyard hole located in the gusset at the base of the pipe. You may want to tie a rope from that hole to a cleat on your boat.

My Motor Get Hot or Breaker TripsThe most common cause for this is usally low Battery Voltage to the puller. Which can be caused by any one of the following or combination 1.Check voltage at the battery/12v source it should be at least 12.8vdc or greater. 2.If the Battery is fine then check the output side of your breaker making sure you do not have a voltage drop. If you do your breaker may be failing or corroded and need to be replaced. 3. If you have some sort of plug for quick removal of your Davit, make sure that the voltage going into the plug is the same coming out (the plug tends to be a big problem with corrison causing increased resistance) 4. If eveything is fine to this point then remove the white cap on the motor and measure the votage on the terminals when you turn the switch on. If voltage is good every where else then you made need to send the motor`in to be reconditioned. Call us for additional trouble shotting on this

Why Do I Need Use Sch80 vs. Sch40The single biggest factor in the use of a Sch80 davit vs a Sch40 davit has to do with the mounting. If the distance between the upper gunnel mount and the lower mount is less than 22" then it very important to only use the the Sch80. For typical sport pots in shallow water and where the upper and lower mounts are greater than 22" then the Sch40 material will more than likely be fine. If you are working larger pots and or multple shrimp pots on one line then the Sch80 is recommended.
